Since I was rudely interrupted in the course of blogging the current season (by the violent atomification of my old blog), I’ve decided to give that up, and instead take inspiration from Dustin’s Evangelion post and make a side trip down memory’s lane to revisit some of the older but highly deserving shows that I haven’t had a chance to feature. Or, in the case of Clannad, that I feel my previous writings had failed to do proper justice to.

It’s a new blog and a new beginning and all, so I figured I might as well start something random – whenever I change the anisong that I embed here on my blog, I’ll make a small accompanying post with the (romaji) lyrics and translation. Personally I can remember a good number of anisongs that I started liking a whole lot better after I understood some of the lyrics, so I guess you could say this is my way of sharing that in some small way :) No guarantee that I’d be disciplined enough to keep this up though, but if you like the idea, let me know!
Without further ado, here’s the first installment! Soba ni Irareru Dake de, the ED to the first episode of Sora no Otoshimono (which so far is the only episode I liked).
In case it still isn’t clear by now, you can listen to the song by hitting the F8 key.
Lyrics and translations (and a pic!) after the jump :)
This is kind of random, but I just had a conversation with a friend and ended up telling a ‘story’ of sorts that I think is worth reposting here. Here it is, slightly abridged, after the jump.
Whew! Ok, just gonna quickly pen a post on AFA (that’s Anime Festival Asia) 09 before my memories of it dim any further. Much of it is what you’d expect of an anime con, and I’ll let my shoddy photos near the end do the talking for those, but before we hit that, let me first dedicate a couple of paragraphs to the live dubbing session(s!). It was after all the first time in my little life that I beheld seiyuus working their craft at such close proximity ;)
And the crowd goes completely wild. And I don’t even know that song :P
So I made a day trip down to Anime Festival Asia 09. Will probably do a coverage post of sorts for that in awhile, but right now I’m gonna just do a quick after-event (okay, more after-concert) impressions pen-down.
Wow, I didn’t plan on posting until I did a proper ‘opening ceremony’ post but this one is too interesting to escape mention:
Native, out-the-box ODF support? In MY Microsoft software? You bet! A quick, deserved salute here to Microsoft. One small step for a company, one giant leap forward for document format interoperability.
People on Windows 7 will be getting ODT’s from me from now on >=)
Yeah hang tight. Will be back soon.
